Keep Those New Year’s Resolutions Going! – #Giveaway

March 3, 2015 by danawyyc 25 Comments

Did you make New Year’s Resolutions this year? My goal was to keep it small and try to go for a walk most days of the week. So far my success has been hit and miss. Five weeks into the year I slipping on the stairs in my house and sprained my ankle. That was super convenient with a new born baby to take care of and put my walks on hold for a bit while I just worked on walking period! After some physio and some TLC I am back to walking again but some days it is just too cold, windy or slippery to take little Robbie out.

This time of year many people have let their goals from January slip away. To help you get back at it or keep at it, I have a little giveaway full of things to help your family keep healthy as Winter turns to Spring.

My resolution was to get active again. After I ran a race in May, I stopped everything, cold turkey. Totally lost motivation. However, I’m happy to report that I’m back. Getting to the gym 2 sometimes 3 times a week makes me feel healthy, relaxed and so much better!

I set resolutions around attitudes rather than activities. Things like “I am going to look after myself; every day I will do something that looks after me”. This works for me because sometimes it’s a cup of tea, a hike, a quiet time with a book or some yoga. If I said “I’m going to yoga twice a week” I’d have already lost!

My resolution was to eat more fruits and veggies and reduce my sugar intake. I’m really making an attempt to get more fruits/veggies into my diet but I’m not doing so well with reducing my sugar intake. I like my sweets too much!

I didn’t make any on New Year’s Eve – I fail at those but I set one on Feb 1st to cut back on caffeine. Most days I do very well… others well, stress makes me crave it.

Mine was to eat healthier. I’ve strayed from my healthy diet a few times but mostly have been sticking to it

I’m not doing too well I’m afraid. However I’ve enlisted a friend and I’m going back to the gym again so I have renewed focus

I am doing better with eating more raw vege and fruit (yay for smoothies!) but am still not exercising as much as I would like. Like you I am trying to walk as much as possible but I seem to fluctuate a bit.
